The Portal Software Infrastructure team is seeking a Technical Writer to create high quality material to document internal facing processes, tool user guides and various other articles to aid the Portal Software team.
This role will be 100% remote.
Organize and deliver clear and effective technical documentation, including tool user guides, how-to guides and processes.
Create appropriate layout and diagrams to ensure documentation is easy to read, navigate and understand.
Collaborate with Engineering, Product and other teams to understand documentation needs and gather detailed requirements.
Work cross-functionally and communicate regularly with our internal customers to spot gaps and prioritize future documentation work.
Engage in projects at all phases of their lifecycle: including from the planning stage through to completion, at the draft stage, at the final review stage.
Create and maintain project schedule(s), communicating regular status updates to stakeholders and departmental management.
Proactively escalate problems and issues as needed.
Multi-task and prioritize assignments.
Act as a consultant to the broader Portal engineering team, to provide written polish for various types of documents.
6+ years experience in writing technical documentation for software.
Expertise in markup languages, such as HTML, XML.
Expertise in creating diagrams, flow charts and other graphics to explain complex processes.
Experience with creating documentation for Android OS a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to navigate complex organizations and collaborate with diverse stakeholders on new and ambiguous projects.
Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
