Community Operations Specialist (10001427)


New Product Experimentation is focused on learning fast by launching new products. We are a set of five independent teams in Menlo Park, San Francisco and New York, each made up of a small group of engineers, PMs and designers, building new products outside the existing Facebook family of apps.

The San Francisco NPE team is hiring an enthusiastic, product-focused community operations manager. An ideal candidate has a strong product sense, an intuition for engaging and building interest-based communities and outstanding attention to detail.

Responsibilities for this role include:

Developing and implementing community engagement strategies

Developing domain expertise on community interests

Discover and engage new contributors within the community

Ensuring quality and throughput for content created by contributors

Aggregate and synthesize community feedback

Collaborate with the product development team to create a plan to address feedback


Required Qualifications:

  • 5-9 years of experience in community management (e.g., community manager, content strategy, etc.)
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with basic web development (HTML, CSS)
  • Experience engaging with and building community on social media platforms (not just experience running a social media platform)

Nice to have:

  • Experience with content management for user generated content
  • Experience working with product teams to ship early stage products
  • Expertise with social media platforms and online community building tools 
  • Experience building online community forums
  • Familiarity with or experience in gamification concepts for online communities


  • Associates degree in communications or equivalent
