Facebook is seeking a Program Manager to support our developer marketing efforts for F8, our annual developer conference. The ideal candidate will have experience in developer marketing at a fast-paced company and will be able to communicate how and why our variety of products can provide meaningful value to developers. He or she must be driven and have a relentless focus on growing and bringing awareness to Facebook’s developer tools and services. This person understands different market dynamics, the competitive landscape, and how to successfully launch new products. The ideal candidate will know how to positively impact developer sentiment and drive new behavior, effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams for on-brand messaging, product positioning, and creative marketing. The ideal candidate will be creative and display strong content creation, communication, and organizational skills. This is a contract position based at Facebook’s headquarters in Menlo Park.


Responsibilities

    • Manage all Developer Marketing workstreams for F8 sessions, including script writing, art direction and design, speaker preparation and quality assurance.
    • Ensure all F8 milestones, reviews and approvals are clearly communicated and managed efficiently
    • Understand the broader Facebook ecosystem, competitive landscape, and developer needs
    • Work with XFN teams to deliver on-brand messaging, content, and experiences by helping to concept, build, and manage interactive event floor experiences, large-scale demos, and classroom-like activities
    • Author and produce developer-facing communications and creative – from blog posts to social updates, website copy, video graphics, and more
    • Focus on outbound marketing efforts to drive event awareness – craft presentations, run campaigns, and more
    • Interact with F8 core team and coordinate developer marketing efforts to promote the event and our products
    • Coordinate and manage the sequencing of all product launches, website updates, and related marketing efforts, aligning with F8 run-of-show and communications and product marketing objectives
    • Manage and organize all F8 projects – from session development to demo experiences, marketing communications, and other event logistics for Developer Marketing

 

    • Technical background is a plus
    • 5+ years professional experience in Marketing or large-scale events planning
    • Strong understanding of web and mobile apps, emerging technologies, open source, and the developer and industry landscapes
    • Experience partnering with XFN teams, vendors, and creative agencies
    • Comfortable communicating with a variety of audiences, including both technical and consumer
    • Outstanding communication, time management, and organizational skills with a sharp eye for detail
    • Demonstrated capacity to communicate complex, large-scale concepts clearly and simply
    • Strong ability to think creatively and strategically while effectively prioritizing initiatives and collaborating with key stakeholders
    • Comfort with a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, start-up environment
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent, MBA or other relevant advanced degree strongly recommended
