Proactively moved all EE Database Engineering firewall acls to use dynamic network groups. Previously this was a manual process of adding and removing servers and resources, adding time and effort and depended on the times lines of reviewing team, leading to 2-3 days of wait time. Today this process is automatic. This was a huge undertaking while making sure existing connections were not disrupted. I was also able to streamline the whole process of how we create and submit acls rules going forward. This was also a huge timesaver when we stated migrating from FRC to ASH and more recently from PRN to SNC. the team could focus of their core subject matter rather than needing to add/ remove / wait for the new resources to be added/removed.
Supported the dataswarm teams efforts to using glb (dns names) rather than the static ips there were using.
Troubleshooted and fixed the Enablon networking deployment in HSEC that was going on for couple of months and unblocked them. I was only brought in at the tail end to help them figure out what was going on.
Was responsible for deploying all the VMs using IaC (Infra as Code ) which was just be rolled out – I being one of the first to implement and therefore the original tester for the IaC deployments in scale.
Was fully involved in the FRC to ASH Database migration - there was only 1 FTE dba member and 3 new contingents during the actual migration period. In addition to the actual database migration work and supporting the FTE dba to schedule, plan and execute the migration plan, I also needed to mentor, train and support the new contingents and get them up to speed so they could also meaningfully support the migration. The database team was one of the first team to do a 100% migration well within the deadline.
Was responsible for the PRN to ASH migration from initial planning, talking to various teams, scheduling and doing the migration work. We are 95% completed, waiting for the clients to schedule the time that works best for them.
Was responsible for building out a whole new test environment (more than 10 separate 3 node builds) for the DBA team and moving all the test applications out of the production environment into this new environment. Currently I am just waiting on the app owners to be ready to move. Ready on our side. This similar to the PRN to ASH migration was also responsible for the initial planning, coordinating and executing of the plan.
