Hardware Systems Engineer I



Spearhead development, construction and documentation of motion-capture systems including sensors, lighting,

capture devices, and structures

Drive system level requirements for new motion-capture systems

Translate prototypes into production level systems, checking in with researchers to ensure that the requirements for

the capture system are clearly laid out

Rapid building and testing of prototypes which integrate electrical, mechanical and software components

Collaborate with researchers and other engineers across multiple disciplines to discuss, develop and optimize

designs for systems


Support research and exploration of new sensors and sub-systems to deliver the next generation of capture



CAD experience (SolidWorks, NX, Inventor, Fusion 360, Rhino)

Skilled in assembly of complex mechanical devices. Knowledgeable in assembly of electro-mechanical and

optomechanical systems

Experience in working with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Product Design, Research, etc.

Experience with software development, including but not limited to C, C++, or Python

Experience with server development and deployment

Experience with PCB component selection and board layout with tools including but not limited to Eagle, Altium

Knowledge of electrical test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, DMM/DVM.

Knowledge of electronics theory, circuit design, troubleshooting, and repair

Experience working with 3rd party vendors to develop system components and drive requirements


Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
