F8 Project Manager (8872023)

Facebook is seeking a Project Manager to support Messenger's developer marketing efforts for F8, our annual developer conference. The ideal candidate will have experience in event marketing at a fast-paced company and will be able to communicate how and why our variety of products can provide meaningful value to developers. The project manager must be incredibly organized and able to manage a fast paced environment with tight deadlines and stakeholders across multiple areas of the org. They must be able to work with cross-functional teams for on-brand messaging, product positioning, and creative marketing at one of the largest events for the company. This is a contract position based at Facebook’s headquarters in Menlo Park.


Manage the development of high quality materials with tight deadlines and across multiple teams and projects Ensure all F8 milestones, reviews and approvals are clearly communicated and managed efficiently

Maintain brand integrity across all project deliverables

Work with XFN teams to deliver on-brand messaging, content, and experiences by helping to concept, build, and manage interactive event floor experiences, large-scale demos, and classroom-like activities

Assist in Messenger marketing for F8 sessions, including script writing, art direction and design, speaker preparation and quality assurance.

Interact with F8 core team and coordinate marketing efforts to promote the event and our products

Coordinate and manage the sequencing of all product launches, website updates, and related marketing efforts, aligning with F8 run-of-show and communications and product marketing objectives

Manage and organize all F8 projects – from session development to demo experiences, marketing communications, and other event logistics for Developer Marketing

Prioritize competing needs with good reasoning and creative solutions, and coordinate resources across multiple projects and teams


BA/BS degree or equivalent, MBA or other relevant advanced degree strongly recommended

Is a flexible cross-functional collaborator comfortable with a fast-paced, often ambiguous, start-up environment

5+ years professional experience in Marketing or large-scale events planning

Comfortable communicating with a variety of audiences, including both technical and consumer

Outstanding communication, time management, and organizational skills with a sharp eye for detail

Demonstrated capacity to communicate complex, large-scale concepts clearly and simply

Strong ability to think creatively and strategically while effectively prioritizing initiatives and collaborating with key stakeholders

Comfort with a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, start-up environment
